A primary teacher of Scott Sonnon: Alexander Kisten is a 1984 graduate from the Ryazan Airborne Command School. Upon graduation, he served in a Spetsnaz Brigade of the GRU. From 1985 to 1987 he participated in combat operations in Afghanistan. There he held the post of Group Commander, and later, Company Commander. As a result of combat operations, Alexander was awarded the Order of the Red Star and Red Banner. In 1991 Alexander Kisten was invited to serve in the Belarusian Spets Gruppa Alpha. In 1995, he retired from military service and began working in the security services of commercial companies. Since 2003, he has lived in Moscow, teaching techniques of knife fighting for the special units of various government agencies. He has been doing martial arts since he was 12 years old.
